1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work in a comparable way. Under the EU ePrivacy rules, a site may only store information on your device without consent when it is strictly necessary for a service you request. Everything else needs your prior, informed and voluntary consent, which must be as easy to refuse as to give.
2. What we use
This site sets no HTTP cookies. It uses two entries in your browser's local storage:
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| tw_cookie_consent | Strictly necessary | Remembers your consent choice and when you made it, so the banner is not shown on every page. | 12 months, then you are asked again |
| tw_pref_guide_tab | Preferences (optional) | Remembers whether you chose Windows 11, Windows 10 or PowerShell in the setup guide. Set only if you allow Preferences. | Until you withdraw consent or clear site data |
Both entries stay in your browser and are never sent to a server. No third parties can read them.
3. Manage your choice
You can review or change your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent immediately deletes the optional preference entry.
The same Cookie settings button is available in the footer of every page.
4. Browser controls
Most browsers let you view and delete site data in their privacy or security settings — look for options such as “Cookies and site data” or “Clear browsing data”. Deleting this site's data removes both entries; the banner will then appear again on your next visit.
5. Changes to this policy
If we change the storage we use, we will update this page and the effective date. If a change affects optional categories, we will ask for your consent again.
